ASSOCIATE - PATENTS
Carolina Rubilar
Carolina Rubilar is an associate biochemist on the Patents team, focusing on Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals. She holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Biochemistry, with a specialization in Toxicological Biochemistry and Molecular Diagnostics, both from Universidad de Chile. Her work is focused on the technical-scientific analysis of patent applications in biotechnology, microbiology, cell biology and biomedical sciences, supporting the assessment of novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability of developments in these fields.
She has solid experience in molecular biology (cloning, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, Western blot), cell and microorganism culture, flow cytometry and indirect immunofluorescence, as well as in literature search and analysis using scientific databases (PubMed, BLAST). She contributes to prior-art review and to the preparation of patentability reports for clients in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. She speaks Spanish and English (C1).
